Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 Oct 2026
These Terms govern your use of TutorFrog (the "Platform"), where students can find and book lessons with independent tutors and schools.
1. Who we are
"TutorFrog", "we", "us" and "our" refers to Trainer Space Ltd, the operator of the Platform. Company number: 16814946.
Contact: admin@tutorfrog.co.uk
2. Acceptance
By creating an account, booking a lesson, creating a tutor or school profile, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity carried out using your account.
- If you believe your account has been compromised, you must notify us as soon as reasonably possible.
4. Marketplace role
The Platform facilitates lesson bookings between students and independent tutors or schools. Unless expressly stated otherwise, we are not a party to the agreement between a student and a tutor or school for the provision of tutoring services.
Tutors and schools are independent providers and are responsible for the lessons and services they offer, including their conduct, teaching methods, lesson content, availability, pricing and compliance with applicable laws.
Tutors and schools are also responsible for holding any qualifications, permissions, licences, insurance, safeguarding arrangements or criminal record checks that may be required or appropriate for the services they provide.
TutorFrog does not guarantee the identity, qualifications, experience, suitability, availability or conduct of any user, tutor or school. Students should review the information provided and satisfy themselves that a tutor or school is suitable before making a booking.
5. Lesson bookings
- A lesson booking is confirmed when payment has been successfully processed and the Platform records the booking as confirmed.
- Availability displayed on the Platform may change until a booking has been confirmed.
- Students must review the lesson description, location, format, duration, price and any requirements before confirming a booking.
- Students must attend lessons on time and comply with any reasonable rules or instructions provided by the tutor or school.
- Tutors and schools must provide the booked lesson at the agreed time, location and format unless the booking is cancelled in accordance with these Terms.
- A booking may relate to an in-person or online lesson, depending on the information displayed on the relevant listing.
- Users must not use the Platform or any booked lesson for unlawful, harmful, abusive or otherwise prohibited activity.
6. Payments
Payments are processed through third-party payment providers, including Stripe. Payment card and bank account details are handled by the relevant payment provider and are not stored directly by us.
The total price payable, including any applicable fees, will be displayed before payment is confirmed.
We may charge a platform fee, service fee or other fee for use of the Platform. Payment processing fees charged by our payment provider may be deducted separately from Tutor or School payouts. Applicable fees will be disclosed within the Platform.
Tutors and schools authorise us and our payment providers to collect payments from students, deduct any applicable fees, refunds, chargebacks or other amounts due, and transfer the remaining amount in accordance with the Platform's payout arrangements.
Tutors and schools are responsible for any tax, reporting, registration or accounting obligations arising from the income they receive through the Platform.
We may withhold, delay, reverse or recover payments where reasonably necessary to process a refund, resolve a dispute, investigate suspected fraud, comply with the law or protect the Platform and its users.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Student cancellations
If a Student cancels before the lesson start time, we will initiate a refund where permitted by the cancellation policy displayed at the time of booking. Payment processing fees and any non-refundable Platform fees may be deducted from the refund.
A Student who does not attend a confirmed lesson without cancelling may not be entitled to a refund.
Tutor or School cancellations
If a Tutor or School cancels before the lesson start time, the Student should receive a full refund of the amount paid for that lesson.
A cancellation by a Tutor or School within 24 hours of the lesson start time is treated as a late cancellation. We may record late cancellations against the Tutor or School account and may suspend or restrict accounts with repeated cancellations.
Lesson unavailable
If a Student attends or attempts to join a confirmed lesson but the Tutor or School does not provide the lesson, is unavailable, the location is closed, or the online lesson cannot reasonably be accessed due to circumstances within the Tutor or School's control, the Student should receive a full refund.
We may request information or evidence from the Student, Tutor or School before approving a refund and may record the incident against the relevant account.
Rescheduling
Any request to reschedule a lesson is subject to the agreement of both the Student and the Tutor or School. A lesson is not rescheduled until the change has been confirmed through the Platform or otherwise confirmed by us.
Refund processing
Approved refunds are submitted to the payment provider as soon as reasonably possible. Refunds may take 5–10 business days to appear in the Student's bank account, depending on the payment provider and bank.
In some cases, the original payment may disappear from the bank statement instead of appearing as a separate refund.
We may refuse, reduce or reverse a refund where we reasonably believe that a request is fraudulent, abusive, inaccurate or inconsistent with these Terms or the cancellation policy displayed at the time of booking.

The Platform does not provide educational, safeguarding, legal, financial, tax or professional advice.
13. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to the paragraph above, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the acts, omissions, conduct or services of a Student, Tutor, School or other third party.
We are not liable for loss caused by inaccurate listings, unavailable lessons, cancellations, technical failures, payment provider failures, internet connectivity problems or events outside our reasonable control.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data or reputational damage, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where you use the Platform as a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights that cannot be excluded or restricted.
Subject to any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, our total liability arising from or relating to a booking will not exceed the total amount paid through the Platform for the booking giving rise to the claim.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict or terminate an account where we reasonably believe that a user has breached these Terms, provided false or misleading information, misused the Platform, created a risk to another user or engaged in suspected fraud or unlawful activity.
We may also remove listings, restrict bookings, delay payouts or take other reasonable action while investigating a complaint, safeguarding concern, payment dispute or suspected breach.
Where appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to respond before taking action. We may act without prior notice where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with the law, prevent fraud or protect the security of the Platform.
Users may stop using the Platform at any time. Ending an account does not affect outstanding bookings, payment obligations, refunds, disputes or provisions of these Terms that are intended to continue after termination.
